Totally unsigned (look for the green house with tables in the courtyard), Susana’s Garden cooks up a storm. Famous for its salad bar (yes, those are fresh vegetables – you are not hallucinating), this might be the only place to serve zucchini in Honduras. The salad bar costs from just L140. Mains are meaty or full of fresh seafood, and delicious.

6Drinking & Nightlife

This is one of Ceiba’s more interesting drinking establishments, a curious, enclosed beach bar with a tree-house feel and lots of nooks, crannies and corners to get cozy in. It’s famous locally for the owner’s homemade liquors – he dubs it (with a wink) ‘the only organic bar in Honduras.’ The crowd is bohemian and parties on the weekend go late.
